A winning combination of pure, consistent color with great versatility. Use dry as a conventional color pencil or wash over with a brush to achieve true watercolor effects. 

Derwent Watercolor Pencils can be mixed with water to create interesting color flows.  They can also be used dry and because they have such a soft texture you will find them easy to blend and layer. Watercolor pigment is not permanent like Inktense, so once the color is dry you can re-wet it and move it about again. The colors from the Watercolor Pencils are also not as bright as the inktense pencils, so will work well in more subtle paintings.
